Pin it UP Girls

.

"A woman should be pink and cuddly for a man." Jayne Mansfield

Pin Ups, Beautiful, breathtaking, classy and yet ultimate sexy. They have always been amazing figures. In the WW II era, The idea of pin ups came strong on the spot light to motivate the soldiers to fights,& stay strong. They were reminders for troops of what was waiting for them back home ;)

Bettie Page
stunning figure & her famous cone bra
Not know by many, but how can we forget about “the queen of Pin-ups”!
She started up doing small amounts local modelling and stage acting. She became famous quickly.  She was featured as Play boy’s Miss January 1955, people came to believe that she is the dark counterpart of Marilyn Monroe.

She became the first famous bondage model (NOT a pornographer) photographed my Irving Klaw, she became known as the queen of curves” and “the dark angel”.

According to MTV, Uma Thurman’s hairstyle in Pulp Fiction and the entire career of Dita Von Teese would not have been possible without Bettie Page. She also influenced Madonna’s fetishism.

Some of Her famous movies include: Strip-o-Rama, a burlesque film, the famed Vegas showgirl, & Teaserama. Can you see the pattern here ;)

Marilyn Monroe
I sure can NOT EVER talk about classic 50’s Pinups without talking about the everlasting beauty of "The Blonde Bombshell", Marilyn Monroe.
She was Born as Norma Jeane Mortenson, she never knew her real father. Her mom got sick so she went on to live with a friend of her mum, Grace McKee. Grace loved & cared for her dearly, but got married later on, and because there wasn’t enough money, Marilyn had to be placed at an orphanage for two years.

Marilyn’s 1st appearance was in a photo shoot while she was working in a factory inspecting parachutes in 1944. And since then she started picking up fame rapidly.
She then starred in many movies including "The Asphalt Jungle", "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" (my favourite) & “some like it hot”.

She was featured on the cover if the 1st issue of play boy magazine in 1953 and inside was a nude photo of her take back in 1949. That was a pretty smart and stronge promotion for the magazine, who wouldn’t but it??!!

Veronica Lake
“I will have one of the cleanest obits of any actress. I never did cheesecake like Ann Sheridan or Betty Grable. I just used my hair.” Veronica Lake

Known for her iconic hair that obscured one heavy-lidded eye, and mesmerizing looks, Veronica Lake is The peek-a-boo" pin up of Hollywood's golden age.

She had a sad life story starting from a troubled childhood, broken marriages, schizophrenia, and a drinking problem that was most likely her attempt to self-medicate. Unfortunately her fame & work ended up quickly, but she sure lives forever in history.
"I wasn't a sex symbol, I was a sex Zombie" Veronica Lake

Everybody loves them, all girls strive to look like them, & all men want them.

Inspired by their beauty, and fascinated by their stories, I will do my best (and i know it's not even close to being enough) to create a look that portraits their beauty.

so coming up, an easy Pin Up look <3 <3 <3
